Date and maple syrup based rice crispy bars. Good pre training or match snack to keep fuel levels up without high insoluble fibre and fat.

200 g Pitted Dried Dates
150 g Maple Syrup
140 g Rice Crispies
80 g Almond Butter

In a bowl cover a cup of dried pitted dates in boiling water and allow to soften for 10 minutes.

In a blender combine the softened dates with 1/4 cup almond butter, and 1/2 cup maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener).

In a large bowl combine 4 cups of rice crispy/puffed rice cereal with the date mixture. Use your hands or a large spoon to mix really well and coat all of the cereal well. Push this firmly into an 8 x 8 tin and then into the fridge for a few hours or overnight to harden and set. Cut into 10 bars. These will keep for 5 days in the fridge.
